Chattanooga DSA condemns in the strongest terms the coordinated US and Israel bombing attacks on Iran that began today, February 28th 2026.
Iran is a sovereign nation. The escalation from economic sanctions and covert operations, from the US or its proxy military base in Israel, to outright military strikes is a declaration of war.
We see these actions as the attempt to start a regional war that would multiply the suffering of the Iranian people and the people of the wider region.
The US and Israel are continuing to demonstrate that the real threats to this region are zionism and imperialism.
As working class people in Chattanooga, we stand in solidarity with the working class people of Iran who are victims of this violence.
These actions do not benefit us in Chattanooga or our fellow workers in Iran. It is the ruling class that is making these decisions and benefitting from them at the expense of working people abroad and at home.
We demand that our tax dollars go towards OUR needs in Chattanooga–healthcare and housing–not to bombs and endless wars.
We demand US hands off of Iran, and hands off the region!
